Jack Benson’s Perspective on the Worlds

The worlds was a great event on the water with a mix of conditions and some very close racing for everyone.  There was not a lot to do off the water but the club did what it could to put on food and drinks each day after racing.

I am obviously extremely happy with my result of 3rd again and have to take my hat off to Stevie for a great come back, and Scotty who sailed the most consistently.

It was a nail biting last few days for me with with a crash in race 7 and some minor repairs over night and the points showing that anyone from 3rd to 9th could get on the podium.  I still felt rather confident with races 8-9 forecast to be in 15-20 knots and I knew after Kiel that my boat speed and handling in these conditions was good so all i had to do was stay out of trouble and back my self.

All of the Australians should be very happy with their results we showed that we are at the front in all conditions and with all types of equipment.  Lets keep the good close racing going for the nationals at Wangi Wangi.
